The 1x1 of content creation - Part 2

Share on:

Tips for creating high-class content.

Content marketing - there's no getting around it and it's important, but not that easy. That's why in part 1 of our series we summarized for you in 5 steps how you can create a content plan.  You can find out more about creating a content marketing strategy here

In part 2, we will focus on the content itself - because we have been searching the internet for you and have collected tips that are important when creating content.

The basic tips

Before everything can get started, it is super important to set up a content marketing strategy. We have an entire article explaining everything you need to know about goals, target groups and the like, so we won't go into this in detail.

However, we do want to mention the following tips for the basis of all content marketing:

Only some content marketing campaigns will be successful. Ultimately, it's all about testing and finding out what the target group likes. This is why some campaigns will have less reach than others, especially in the beginning.

Planning is important! An editorial plan is not a “nice-to-have” - but a great way to manage your resources well and stay on the ball.

Patience is more important than you might imagine. Organic content marketing needs one thing above all else and that is time. However, it is important not to give up and - as mentioned - to stay on the ball.

Tips for content creation

Good, we know the basics, we have a strategy and a plan. Now it's time for the content itself and our tips for creating it.

  1. Research is the be-all and end-all. Create a content map and brainstorm for all you're worth. The more topics you have collected at the beginning, the easier it will be for you afterwards and you won't have to think about what you can write about for next week's ZG. Keyword research can also help here, as free tools such as the Google Keyword Planner are also very useful.

  2. Quality ALWAYS takes precedence over quantity, because the ultimate goal is that the content contains added value for the target group. Posting for the sake of posting has never helped anyone.

  3. Know the vocabulary of your target group and write in a way that best suits them. Research is also very important here.

  4. Adopt the principle of the inverted pyramid. Start with the core information in your texts and then move on to further explanations and details. Additional and background information only follows at the end. This can work particularly well for reports.

  5. Avoid novels in your texts, be concise, short and to the point.

  6. Make the content simple, but worth reading. It should be easy to grasp what it is about. Headings help quite well with blogs, for example.

  7. We use a standardized approach and try to avoid technical vocabulary. Anyone who has to research your content first will probably not come back.

  8. Create your own content, don't use someone else's. This is particularly important for SEO.

  9. After creation is before creation. This means that there is always something that can and should be optimized. Go on a search and find where there is still potential.

  10. Testing and measuring are the two terms that will always be with you. Test what you can and measure your success. This is the only way to learn what your target group likes best.

Phew, that's quite a lot of information, isn't it? And because it's so nice, we have even more tips for you. And of course there are also some other articles with valuable tips.

Video content - tips for moving images

Of course, it's all about video at the moment - and on all platforms. That's why we have some tips on this too. Let's go.

  1. Quality is important. That doesn't mean you have to have the most expensive camera, because many smartphones deliver great results. But: blurred or pixelated is no longer an option in 2024.

  2. Get to the point! With the amount of content available today, nobody watches minute-long videos - unless they are specifically looking for something. Otherwise: keep it short!

  3. Keep it varied - because there's nothing more boring than watching the same format every week.

  4. Convince in a few seconds - this means that you should trigger specifically at the beginning or work with cliffhangers to keep people interested.

  5. Tell a story, because nothing is as memorable as a well-told story.

There are many more tips, but we have collected the essentials. If you want to read more, you'll find more here
